DESCRIPTION
The essential oil of juniper cade is obtained by pirogenizing the wood of the Juniperus oxycedrus, or sabina de miera native to the Mediterranean forest.
It is a evergreen shrub, which can reach 10 m in height and has a very bushy cup of conical or ovate shape, often ending in a pointed shape. Trunk thick and straight, fibrous bark, grayish brown, with sheets whorled by three, needle-like, rigid, sharp, with two white lines on the beam, separated by a narrower greenish and notorious gálbulos. Is a dioecious unisexual species, produces male and female feet. It flowers at the end of winter and during the spring, ripening the gálbulos (fruits), in the second year, the fruits are globose or ovoid, fleshy, abayadas, of a greenish color at the beginning and later red or brownish-reddish. Is a very variable plant in which many subspecies are distinguished, according to the color of the arcéstidas, length of the leaves, etc. The most solid of these subspecies is our essential oil: Juniperus oxycedrus.
This essential oil has disinfectant, antiseptic and repulsive properties, often used for skin conditions such as scabies. It also helps fight dandruff, and strengthen hair and nails.
